Fairly unassuming from the front, you’d be forgiven for thinking of passing by Aladdin. Once inside, you get that first whiff of the charcoal grill. Begin eating the divine authentic Arabic and Middle Eastern cuisine and you’ll realise that you’ve found a Manchester gem.
We first took the children for a family birthday recently. We’re used to finding the restaurant extremely busy, so were surprised to find it much quieter when we went along at teatime mid-week. To start we ordered lots of small dishes to share and, with the less developed palates of little ones in mind, we included hoummus, pitta and salad. Pleasingly the children sampled lots of what we ordered, some of which they enjoyed, some of which they didn’t. Moving onto mains, the charcoal-grilled chicken kebab and the kafteh were both big hits. The meal came to a happy conclusion with ice cream and complimentary sweets.
There are no colouring sheets or gimmicks here but the children were made to feel very welcome. Nothing was a problem for the staff.
There is little room for a pram downstairs and awkward to carry one upstairs so take a car seat if you want baby to sleep.
Daily 1-11pm. No baby changing facilities.
