This is a destination café. Set in a renovated pavilion in the middle of Longford Park, surrounded by playgrounds, tennis courts, cycling paths, an aviary, gardens, football nets and wide open space; it is the perfect place to plan to meet a friend with kids for lunch or a coffee.
The interior has been thoughtfully and stylishly kitted out; with a large piece of oak forming the counter, industrial lighting and white brick tiles all helping to create a modern Scandinavian feel. There is plenty of seating and one enormous table, perfect for a big gang of friends. Colouring pencils are on hand in vibrant pots, and scattered newspapers create a welcoming hangout. If you only came for a coffee it would be hard to resist the tempting cakes and treats or a buttered crumpet. If you want something more substantial there are wonderful breads from The Uprising Bakery, tasty filled bagels, soups, slow-cooks and breakfasts.
Outside, brightly-painted picnic tables overlook a children’s play park; in winter you could warm up with a hot chocolate or freshly-brewed coffee whilst your little ones play out. The café is keen to encourage families, organising seasonal events such as pumpkin carving and biscuit decorating. Follow their Facebook page for information on events.
