Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow. Particularly in mid summer! What could be better than turning your back on the tropical Manchester sunshine for a spell on the piste – nothing short of delightful. The Chill Factore is one of Britain’s foremost indoor ski centres operating all year round at sub-zero temperatures with skiing, tubing (sliding down a slope in a huge rubber ring), luge, and snow play for the very little ones. The snow park is only small but with soft play penguins, sliding rubber rings and building blocks to make igloos out of, it was perfect for the allotted play period for our younger children. Personally I think any child older than five might get bored quite quickly in this section. Meanwhile, we’d taken advantage of one of Chill Factore’s many enticing ski lesson offers and booked our seven and eight-year-olds into a taster session over on the beginners’ slope which was a great success. We finished off our visit with a trip upstairs to the Alpine-themed restaurant, Mont Blanc, where we tucked into a very good pizza and hot chocolates.
Chill Factore is exciting, exhilarating and a giggle. Before you know it, your three-year-old will be whizzing past you, a Chemmy Alcott in the making.
