This farm park set in open countryside, is a fun day out for children of all ages – there’s non-stop action with indoor and outdoor activities from the moment you arrive until the end.
If it is animals you want, there are cows, pigs, llamas, goats, guinea pigs, birds of prey, and ponies (to say nothing of loads of bugs and reptiles in their own jungle-themed reptile house). Animal handling sessions are held throughout the day if you want to get a bit closer. The boys loved the opportunity to tickle a millipede, and found the ferret racing absolutely hilarious.
If you fancy a bit of time out whilst the kids hare around, nab one of the picnic tables; positioned perfectly to overlook the outdoor play areas, go kart circuit and covered sand pit. For lunch try the enormous indoor café and also next to this there’s a large toy tractor area and a play zone with wavy slides and rope bridges – good if there’s a bit of rain on your trip.
We now had two choices, the barrel ride (£1 extra, weather-dependent) or the tractor trailer ride. As I wanted to join in too we opted for the latter, and laughed as we were bumped around the farmer’s field, waving at passers by. A very enjoyable day.
Open all year round but check website for up-to-date information on opening times and prices.
