I popped along to my local Gusto restaurant one Sunday afternoon with just me and the two ankle-biters. This thriving Italian chain is a popular choice for families, and the atmosphere was easy and jolly.
For £5.95 the kids had the opportunity to choose, then add, their own toppings to a pizza at the table – it’s then taken off and cooked for them. I noticed later that kids are meant to be given a chef’s hat, but our waiter forgot ours. Though hatless the children did enjoy it and the end result was tasty. Note that there is no children’s menu available after 6pm, just smaller portions of the mains. They also had an ice cream dessert within their menu. I opted for a starter-sized portion of the primavera pasta which was ok, but nothing special.
Good to know for families all the Gusto chains have dispensed with crayons at the table and moved onto high-tech iPads! A great decision as far as my kids are concerned.
