Come rain or shine, Hulme Community Garden Centre run a craft or gardening session aimed at under 5s every Thursday.
Set in one acre of beautiful gardens, it is a hidden gem in the city less than a mile from Manchester centre. The site includes a woodland area, a pond full of frogs (and the occasional newt!), a fruit corner with berries, apples and plums, a sandpit and tons and tons of flowers and herbs. On rainy days sessions takes place sitting on straw bales in the garden tunnel.
The activities are dependent on the season, and range from planting potatoes to painting pots. ‘Creations’ can be taken home afterwards. All materials are natural and found, picked and plucked from the gardens.Thursdays 11am-12noon, £2.50 per child, includes materials, refreshments and giggles.
