Three-year-old Ellie and I went for a girly lunch here one Saturday. We ambled for as long as little legs would allow through the bohemian Northern Quarter and fell happily into vegetarian café-cum-gift shop – Oklahoma. It’s a bit crazy, and a lot retro, with a hippy vibe. We like it a lot. Managed to get a seat fairly easily, which was a relief. People do seem to come and go quite quickly; so if it was full, hopefully you wouldn’t have to wait long. Off the kids’ menu Ellie chose baked beans on toast with a chocolate milkshake. I opted for a toasted goats cheese with chorizo sandwich and a cappuccino. All very good and service was swift. We couldn’t leave without a wander round the shop of course, and subsequently Ellie left wearing a pair of super kitsch palm tree and pina colada sunglasses. Cool.
