For the under-fives, Reddish Vale is the perfect farm. Because of its small size it feels secure – nobody can wander off and get lost. And this is why I like it so much.
There are plenty of farmyard animals – ducks, pigs, horses, sheep, donkeys and goats; plus a lovely petting area with guinea pigs and rabbits. All the animals are easy to see. They even have low windows in the pigsty, and buckets of carrots to feed the animals are 50p. If you want to give the kids a workout then there is a bouncy castle and slide, also 50p. Plus there is a selection of free ride-on tractors and trailers. On Sundays from 1-3pm there are pony rides for £2.
The tearooms are open every weekend throughout the year, and daily in the school holidays. Children’s meals start from £2.50 for a burger, nuggets or a hot dog and chips.Farm: 15 Feb-20 Apr Weekends and school holidays 11am-4pm; 21 Apr-1 Sep Weekends and school holidays 11am-4pm, Mon-Wed 11am-4pm, Oct & Dec Weekends 11am-4pm Adult £4, Child £3, under 3s free.
