My kids love the ‘Lazy Susan’ – twirling round the little cups of green tea to ninety-year-old Grandpa seems to them like a children’s tea party. Usually we order masses of dim sum and starters, and there is plenty here that goes down well with little ones. A favourite is the crispy duck, as they love the spectacle and the ceremony of preparing their own rolled pancakes. Often with young children we want a meal to be over and done with quickly, before they either start flicking peas, crying or running wild; at Tai Pan though, our children are interested enough in what’s going on around them to easily tolerate a couple of hours.
