Time for Tea owner Julie believes that tea can only be enjoyed out of a china cup, so on entry to these tearooms you’ll see the shelves heaving with over 50 old-fashioned and novelty china teapots. You can choose one specifically to have your tea served in too!
The café is quite small, with around ten tables, but we got our prams in fine and were warmly welcomed. The menu is simple, serving home-cooked food at reasonable prices; Welsh rarebit at £4, bagels with cream cheese for £2.50 and poached eggs on toast at £3.50, to name but a few.
We very much enjoyed tea the old-fashioned way, and tucked into some fine cakes. For those with toddlers, there is a small children’s corner with a few toys, but due to the amount of china around you’d probably be advised to accompany them in here!
